Jacob is still the number one baby name for boys. Jacob has been the top male name since 1999. Prior to that, Michael was the most popular name each year from 1964 to 1998. Emily was the most popular female baby name each year from 1996 to 2009. This year Isabella became the most popular baby name in the country, followed by Sophia.
